Why Do We Attend Conferences?

Ok, attending conferences is big business. Between the marketing, swag, travel, hotel, meals, booths, and human capital, sponsoring or attending a conference is no small undertaking.

The FRONTSTEPS team is in Orlando, FL at CAMfire 2018, a conference for Community Association Managers. It also happens to be sponsored by our friends at TOPS Accounting Software. There are 500 people here. The swag is on point, thanks to Lizzy!

The FRONTSTEPS booth is the first thing guests see when they walk into the ballroom. And our smiling sales people, Lizzy, Drew, and Shaun, are the second thing they see. And right there is our ROI.

“I love meeting our customers in person,” said Lizzy Rao, FRONTSTEPS payments expert. “I talk to people on the phone and you feel like you get to know them but then when you’re here and you meet them in person and shake their hand, it’s just really special.”

Special and helpful. Rao has been taking notes and collecting cards. When there’s a lull in activity, she’ll sit down and fire off a few emails to help solve any issues customers are having. Meanwhile Drew and Shaun and reminding customers of our exclusive upgrade offer (.50 a unit) and doing demos of our awesome new product. Everyone seems to know Shaun … and you can’t miss Drew. (He’s uber tall and sort of dashing!) Matt DeWolf, our product guru and resident silver fox, will be doing a special presentation Thursday at lunch to talk industry trends and how FRONTSTEPS is spearheading a movement towards the intersection of technology and online payments.

Here’s the thing. We love helping our customers. Our software really does benefit them, power resident engagement and help them accept online dues/fees payments in a way that’s smart, modern, and streamlined.  And standing face-to-face with a customer demonstrating our product is really the best way for us to show off our platform and the forward-thinking product that will make your value as a CAM more apparent and improve your community.

So, yes we go for the swag and the chance to get out of the office and have a beer with co-workers. But we really go because we believe in what we’re selling and marketing and want to share it with the people who will benefit. Did I mention the swag? Pssst ... we have awesome swag!
